Introduction
The purpose of this section is to remember those that were murdered in the Holocaust. Therefore there will be a lot of names to follow. The charts below are to help the reader. You may also want to refer to part IV as well to see their relationship with those that managed to escape Poland and the Holocaust.
Avram Moshe Olej and Baila Horowicz were your author’s 2nd great-grandparents. I descend from them via my great-grandfather, Yosef Olej. Then via his son Leon Olej (Olive). Leon was my mother’s father. The charts below show the siblings of my great-grandfather Yosef and their children who were thought to be in Poland when Hitler invaded.


Moshe Yosef Levin and Masza Levin were your author’s 2nd great-grandparents. I descend from them via my great-grandmother, Mindel Levin. Then via her son Leon Olej (Olive). Leon was my mother’s father. The chart below shows your author’s great-grandparents Yosef and Mindle, and their siblings who were thought to be in Pabianice when Hitler invaded Germany.

Avram Zamvel Besser and Menucha Yaakov were your author’s 2nd great-grandparents. I descend from them via my great-grandfather, Kalman Besser. Then via his daughter Cypora Besser. Cypora was my mother’s mother.
Shlomo Mendel Popaver and Rachel Leia (last name unknown) were your author’s 2nd great-grandparents. I descend from them via my great-grandmother, Frayda Popaver. Then via her daughter, Cypora Besser. Cypora was my mother’s mother.
The chart below shows how these two families connected. It also shows Kalman Besser, Frayda Popaver, their siblings and their children who were believed to be in the Warsaw and Otwocka areas when Hitler invaded Poland.
